E-HRZN Records is excited to announce the release of the “Painful Quest of Denji LP,” by Matt Altman. This thirteen track release features eight brilliant original tracks by Matt Altman alongside first-class remixes of select singles by Audio Units, Franco Rossi, JSPRV35, and Modēm.

Each of the eight original tracks is a journey through intricate, hypnotic rhythms and expansive soundscapes that showcases Matt’s dynamic and masterful ability to weave a cohesive sonic narrative throughout an album. The eight originals reflect different points and characters of the manganime “Chainsaw Man,” which follows the devil hunter Denji.

Tracks such as “Assault on the Zombie Yakuza,” “Kobeni’s Counter Attack,” and “The Brute Kishibe,” are intense incursions with heavy percussions, infectious grooves and twisted synth lines which represent powerful sequences in the plot and which are simultaneously dancefloor ready weapons.

Meanwhile, tracks such as “Himeno’s Ghostly Power,” Akuma No Katana,” and “Akuma No Yurei,” are deeper, trippier, and more hypnotic approaches to techno with ethereal synths which subtly shift and morph to create a captivating sense of progression while remaining deeply technical and aggressive in all the best ways.

Not to be overlooked is the title track, which is a brutal, percussive, mind trip of a record. Some percussion hits in the track are meant to represent the toughness of the chainsaw devil in the plot.

Each of the hand-selected remixers offer their own unique and meticulously crafted adaptations of the originals, resulting in a mesmerizing collection of tracks that is a voyage through deep, pulsating grooves, layered, driving beats, and vast sound dimensions.

Characterized by its sense of continuous motion, immersive depth, and constantly evolving structures, “The Painful Quest of Denji LP” allows listeners to lose themselves in rhythm and groove while discovering new nuances and textures with each playback.
