Pekka Jerkku

Another multidisciplinary techno / ambient release from Pekka Jerkku combining rhythm, sound design and progressing effect twidling. The 7-track EP includes a remix from the finnish ambassador of melodic and industrial techno, Kitkatone.

The release begins with 'Kivaltava / Pohja', a stomper with claps and kicks laid over each other giving a firm blow for the dust covering your dance shoes in the corner of your closet. Hopefully you are waking up while 'Herätys' plays along in depths of the knowledgeable sound design as steady the route goes into midst of progressing grooves.

'Vire' and 'Silmatera' both are straight-forward, minimalistic and percussion-driven techno with a peculiar taste nodding towards the spirit of detroit techno. Tendency to dance appears the latest while 'Silmatera' with the uplifting arrangement.

'Katedraali' is the ambient-lullaby, somewhere between Moomin animations and 808 - if picking an instrument from the drum computer, which one would you prefer for an ambient track next to a warm bassline?
All this storytelling was recognized by Kitkatone for picking up the piece to be remixed - with an energetic result of harsh and evolving refiguration with the trademark sound - dreamy and harmonic pads, the flashy hihats and a crowd-moving kick drum. A certain fact was set evident by releasing the remix - Kitkatone shall collect one of the nine lifes of any techno-cool cat, for his own favor and future as summoning for the Gods of blessed beats and joyful parties.

So what is left after the party? Probably an enormous void to be filled up with some positive memories as the party took place longer than we expected, sucking all the energy out there into a black hole, on the other side of the universe, where the materia, sound and reality pops out again into shape like popcorn, right after the music went down. 
Ending track 'Untitled' bends the perception around the trip from the afterparty back to home giving a good moment or two for the listener to internalize what actually happened out there.
