The title track - “A Story Behind” is an introspective minimal trip resting on a strong baseline from producer Ujin. Featuring melancholic pads and computerised blips throughout with moments of creepy synth work and flourishes of percussion combining for hypnotic dance floor moments. Second, "Let’s Start It” features a snarling acid baseline, setting the soundscape for what floats above. Moments of tension come from dreamy pads and vox chops while percussion and gated fx lines contribute to explosive minimalistic drops to keep things moving whether in a peak time or after-hour setting. Fedo’s remix brings his character sound to the title track with a luscious groove heavy bassline and dubby atmospheres combining to move things towards vox-laden breaks programmed to captivate listeners and transport them to an energetic finish that is deep and driving. Juuz brings a dark and raw rendition of “A Story Behind” with a super chunky bottom end and 909-style percussion bringing together this slamming yet minimal club shaker and rounding out the EP which is certainly the most minimalistic offering from Zapped Records to date.
