Roll Dann

If you are a fan of techno and have paid attention to the most relevant producers lately, you will surely have come across the name of the maker of this EP. Roll Dann is one of the fittest creators on the Spanish scene and this is demonstrated by his work for labels such as Soma Quality Recordings or Mord among others.

His specialty is the most combative and direct techno, but with a solid foundation in the best tradition of this sound, the roots that come from the best British techno of the nineties, combined with a current and powerful sound design. This in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of the genre leads him to easily master everything necessary to move an intelligent dance floor and throughout the six cuts that make up this work he demonstrates it with solvency and professionalism.

Starting with the introduction Confused Smiles, Roll Dann prepares us for the storm that will follow, which opens fire with Ungrateful Skills, straight to the jugular, made with crunchy continuous sequences, with the appropriate dose of distortion riding on a compact and direct rhythm, all with an hypnotic and obsessive progression that makes it a dangerous tool for the most experienced DJs.

Interrupted slides towards more liquid terrain without abandoning the danceable impulse, but soon things get more aggressive with the emergence of successive layers and sequences.

The Guide descends into the depths of the underground sound, rubbery and smoky, stretching and modifying the frequencies, playing with distortion and aggressiveness in a risky but nevertheless very effective exercise in the club.

Excess of Power, a kind of rhythmic tunneling machine that pierces the eardrums and stirs up the sound systems,  taking us to the last cut, Creating Pleasures stops the machine and experiments with textures and industrial influences, a farewell in style for a high-voltage EP.
