Deepnaut is back at home with our second full album since Korben NIce’s one. For this sound voyage, Daniel Heredero takes a virtual airplane to the motor city conjuring all the elements required for a hi tech jazz opera.

The Semaphor intro puts the listener in context showing the musical intention to be perceived along this album, a floaty atmosphere translating perfectly the sense of ingravity.

Lunar Gateway is the sequel of this intro, synthetic strings, dreamy chords, 909 rhythms, obsessive sequences… pure techno soul.

On Vertical City the groove is the main course soon joined by synthesizer lines and solid bass frequencies until the soulful chord action takes control of the whole situation. Deepnauting expertise here.

The Semaphor interlude is the beatless version of the main track, cosmic and ethereal transition to The Erebus and The Terror, speeding the tempo, adding tension and danceability via bleeps but keeping the flotation with liquid pads spread all over the place.

Masai Mara uses a weird tribal recording as the background for a complex techno jazz exercise, pure dancefloor mayhem.

The semaphor comes next, a faithful homage to the sound of the Detroit pioneers with a memorable string riff along organic percussions and traditional drum machine rhythms. Mechanical and emotional at the same time.

Techno master Groof reworks the main title in his own merciless style, bringing Birmingham sounds to the Detroit feeling in a drilling exercise of modern techno.
