Yoruba Records is proud to present this new album by label veterans Nomumbah. Hailing from Sao Paulo, this three piece consists of André Torquato, Ale Reis and Rafael Moraes. With this release, Nomumbah show a great deal of maturity, a mark often only surpassed with the release of a sophomore album. The track ‘Words’ will strike a familiar chord with listeners; its clever use of Maya Angelou’s reading of her timeless ‘Still I Rise’ fits perfectly over the top of a deep bass and bongo driven groove. ‘MeinHaus’ is another beautifully crafted track, one that seemingly pays tribute to Chicago’s earliest fathers of deep house while still keeping a certain swing that will set it apart on dance floors today. ‘Precious’, a definite future favourite, features a cutting lead synth that adds warmth to the track and is accompanied by crystal clear hi-hat bursts and a simple, yet captivating, vocal.
