An extraordinary musical journey born under the South African sunrise, “Hope You Don’t Mind” is the product of a profound connection between four artists united by their shared passion for electronic music. The story began at Afrikaburn 2023, where a back-to-back set brought Mal.Da (Berlin) and el Capitan (Istanbul) closer together, sparking not only a friendship but a creative alliance. The project took shape during el Capitan’s summer stay in Berlin, where countless hours were spent in the studio refining the mix of “Hope You Don’t Mind”. Adding to the magic, Sacha Ketterlin, the mastermind behind Intumi Records, contributed his signature sound with a captivating remix. In 2024, el Capitan couldn’t join Afrikaburn, but Mal.Da brought him and his sound to the playa, curating a playlist that carried his energy into the dust. Among her favorite tracks was “Midnight Only” produced by el Capitan and Ugurmeister. The track became part of the EP, elevated further by a stunning remix from Kenji Tanaka, Mal.Da’s partner at the BonkerSquad Berlin collective. With its blend of intricate soundscapes, global influences, and dancefloor-ready energy, the EP is a testament to collaboration and passion of sound.
