Sound The Horns EP by Ziplokk is a journey through dub-inspired music. The title track is a melodic symphony of dubbed-out spring reverb - a catchy hook on the horns accompanied by off beat teasing rim shots and a solid low-end pattern of triplets. ‘Fire’ carries forward the dub wise sound yet taking a deeper path - all ears on the warm modulating sub bass. ‘Explosive Device’ gives the EP a diversified touch from being less dub inspired and more on the beastie bass-line work and filled with energy - this is the dance floor smasher! ‘Burst Mode’ takes on the dub again yet following the path of ‘Explosive Device’ with 16th notes all over the rhythms.
