Shodan

Warm Ears Music, one of London’s youngest drum and
bass labels are proud to welcome Shodan to the family. Shodan has been an influential artist
in the DnB scene for many years, sharing collab releases with some of its founding
members. After a sabbatical, Shodan returns reborn as a producer focussed on the deeper,
more soulful side of the Drum and Bass spectrum. His new two track single ‘Oblique’ is his
first with the label and demonstrates his lovely production skills perfectly.
The title track ‘Oblique’ opens with atmospheric rhythmic stabs, swiftly flowed by an
ethereal but undeniably soulful vocal that together define the mood of the track. A sharp
liquid drum kit combined with distorted bass hits emphasise the excellent balance of light
and dark.
‘Soul Searching’ really demonstrates Shodan’s style as a soulful liquid producer. The track
opens with punchy drums and a peaceful melody that immediately elevates your spirit.
Soulful vocals and a rolling bassline carry you through the rest of his uplifting journey. Ideal
for this gloomy time of year!
Clearly Shodan is a talented artist; these two expertly crafted tracks fit the vibe of the label
perfectly. We feel proud to kickstart 2019 with this release and we look forward to working
