Bio
Mario Ochoa is a Medellín-based DJ and producer whose catalogue connects house and tech house with techno and Latin-influenced club music. His international career developed in the early 2000s around “Habla con la Luna,” followed by work with labels including Toolroom, 100% Pure and Great Stuff. In 2006 he founded Avenue Recordings, creating a continuing home for his own productions and a platform for other artists. His Infected Beats radio and podcast series extends that role into selection and DJing. Ochoa has spoken about the importance of a producer’s individual character and of making arrangements that develop rather than simply extending a loop. That interest in movement across styles remains evident in the range of his projects, from techno releases to vocal collaborations with Manuela Estrada.
