Bio

Bladerunner keeps jungle’s foundations close to the surface of his drum-and-bass work. The UK producer and DJ, Devan Gray, discovered the music as a teenager in East Anglia, following an early musical example at home from his father, reggae artist and broadcaster The Man Ezeke. He learned production partly by rebuilding favourite jungle tracks from their samples, developing the attention to drums and bass that runs through his own releases. Ray Keith brought him to Dread Recordings in 2004, beginning a recording career that also includes Critical, V and his own Hi-Resolution imprint. His DJ sets have reached Glastonbury, Boomtown and Hospitality events without losing their focus on rolling rhythms and exclusive material. Alongside his solo work, he forms Kings Of The Rollers with Serum and Voltage, a partnership whose releases and large-scale shows have given their shared approach to drum and bass a separate identity.
