Thys moves between bass-heavy club music and composition for settings far beyond the club. The Dutch producer, DJ and composer Thijs de Vlieger is a co-founder of Noisia, the trio through which he developed an exacting approach to electronic sound and toured internationally. His solo sets draw on that history without staying at one tempo or inside one genre.

Outside the DJ booth, his work includes collaborations with Amon Tobin, scores for contemporary dance and music connected with fashion designer Iris van Herpen. Biomimicry brought him together with harpist Lavinia Meijer, while other projects have involved orchestral writing and church organ. He also forms VIER with Machinedrum, Holly and Salvador Breed, a collaboration that grew from a studio session in Groningen.
