Innellea is the project of German producer Michael Miethig, bringing melodic electronic music into an increasingly expansive world of live performance. Releases on Afterlife, Innervisions and Diynamic established his club connections, while Distorted Youth, Five Phases and The Belonging developed into concepts with their own musical and visual narratives. The Belonging also became an album in 2024, giving those ideas space beyond the shape of an individual dance track.
The scale of the shows is matched by a tactile approach to making sound. Miethig has described recording bass guitar and hi-hat patterns, working with a small Casio keyboard and using a spring-based Thundermaker to create atmosphere. Those played and found textures sit within the electronic production rather than outside it.
Community has become another explicit part of his work through the Belonging platform. In interviews, he has spoken about friendship and shared experience as motivations for making music. That personal emphasis gives context to the larger productions: the live show is a way of bringing people together as well as presenting the sound.
