Bio

Jon Mavek’s house music grows out of decades spent DJing in New York clubs and lounges. Residencies at places including Le Souk and Guernica gave him a practical grounding in moving a room, and he began producing in 2003 after eleven years behind the decks. His recordings extend from house into chill-out music, with Afro-Latin rhythm and vocal collaborations prominent in his Caveman mixes. In 2020 he founded Mavek Recordings to release his own work and give other producers an outlet. For Mavek, that role is closely connected to his reason for making music: creating something emotionally involving and sharing it with an audience.
