Bio

Founded by French DJ and producer Thibault Berland, the electronic music project Breakbot combines funk, disco, and house on original songs and mega-popular remixes. • Berland attended graphic arts school with Xavier de Rosnay of Justice. Berland's remix of Justice's "Let There Be Light" was included on the Japanese version of the group's Waters of Nazareth EP. This ignited Berland's career and established his relationship with Ed Banger records. • Breakbot’s 2012 debut album, By Your Side, went Top 20 in France. Berland released a limited-edition three-song version made out of chocolate. The pressings reportedly played three times before they were unusable—unless listeners were hungry. • “Baby I’m Yours,” a funky 2015 collaboration with singer Irfane, has earned roughly half a billion streams. • Influenced by the music of Prince, Curtis Mayfield, and Michael Jackson, Breakbot’s 2016 sophomore album, Still Waters, went Top 20 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The album features Irfane as an official member. • Breakbot has made official remixes for Air, Metronomy, and Lizzo, among others.
