Bio

Avidel connects Panama’s rhythmic traditions with the spacious grooves of minimal house. The DJ and producer’s early interest in local instruments developed into an approach that gives percussion, atmosphere and harmony room to interact. Time spent in Europe added another set of club-music influences, which he brings together in productions for labels including RE.FACE, Tzinah, Bohrium and Heisenberg. His work also has a local organising role. He founded the Homies parties to help develop Panama’s underground scene, alongside the Homies Music label project. Independent releases on his own Bandcamp sit beside that label work, including Caladan, a Heisenberg EP built around detailed rhythms and deep atmospheric textures.
