A Thousand Details

Redefined is the latest EP to come from the studio of Portuguese artist A Thousand Details, the project of Reaktivate Records boss Gustavo Lima. After a first release on Reaktivate with experimental duo Sturqen, Lima joins the Berlin-based bastion of Konstruktiv for the Redefined EP.

Opener Sycophant Blues comes out all guns blazing. Relentless in its delivery, a distorted loop brings the game straight into uneasy territory. Konstruktiv head-honcho Rekord 61 is next up, reworking the track with colossal amounts of bounce and swerving percussion work, never failing to impress and deliver on the remix front.

The second half of the EP boasts two dangerous dancefloor weapons. Rome Is For Romans is a deep and musky tool, all in muffled kicks and grey-scale nervosity. EP closer Patronising takes the form of a techno vortex of gnarly shoulder-shuffling tribalism and peak-time tension.

Redefined is set for release May 2nd on Konstruktiv.
