Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.

The venue is 772 Dundas St W, just a block west of Bathurst Street. It’s housed in an unassuming concrete building with Carolina’s pizza restaurant below. Enter by ascending a flight of stairs to discover a space that’s more than just a room to wiggle. There are two lounge areas side by side. One has a long wrap-around red couch. The other area surrounds a small pool table. Luminescent art pieces, a fantasy tree, special lighting, and projections enhance the dance floor. The washroom is gender-neutral. Lapsus Music is the label founded by Emiliano Nencioni and Giacomo Godi, a.k.a Supernova.
LM was created in 2008 when Supernova's music ideas spread abroad, after years of testing and research; this was a point of no return: from now on everything becomes concrete and evolve.
Through Lapsus Music, Supernova want to experiment different sounds. Starting from one music concept, they aim to produce their own music, release others' one music to create a kind of an open lab where they can work with deejays and producers from all over the world, sharing a new language.
Lapsus is the virtual “square” where artists from different places in the world can meet and share their ideas and opinions, looking for a sound and “music worlds” continuously changing.
Until now, the label has hosted a lot of new talents and big names who have always alternated with a great sinergy.
