Over the years we’ve signed and even discovered some legendary artists; we’ve led the way in an ever-changing industry, developing artists and even evolving ourselves – and this is just the beginning.Toolroom Records began in 2003 when emerging DJ/producer Mark Knight and brother Stuart Knight started the label. Quickly developing a fan base of professional and aspiring DJs, the label became synonymous with credible House and Tech House.‘Our mantra from the beginning was a simple one’ say Mark. ‘We wanted to be a record label run by DJs, for DJs. The kind of label that when you saw the artwork behind the counter of the record shop, you’d buy on sight.’Rising in tandem with the career of label figurehead Mark, Toolroom rapidly grew into an internationally known brand through some defining club records – most notably Mark Knight’s remixes of ‘Man With The Red Face’ and ‘You’ve Got The Love’, among a host of original material from Mark and other heavyweight dance artists.Toolroom has also diversified beyond a traditional record label model. We have successfully expanded into events, with Toolroom residencies and festival appearances all over the world. Nothing Else Matters (NEM) channels the inclusive energy dance music is truly about. Founded by BBC Radio 1 DJ and tastemaker Danny Howard, NEM’s roots lay in British nightlife where its events expanded into an electronic music record label supporting club-ready productions.

Its catalogue features some of the most influential DJs including Detlef, Illyus & Barrientos, Lee Foss, Rhythm Masters, Secondcity, Solardo and more. Influenced by Danny’s Radio 1 show, the label functions as a platform to break new talent as well as represent contemporary UK dance sounds.

Max Freegrant is a truly prolific dance music producer who has a rich history of composing music and crafting big hitting club cuts for labels such as Anjuna, Toolroom, Armada, Black Hole, and his own imprint Freegrant Music. His back catalog covers a decade of releases with support from a wide range of DJ A-listers like Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, Steve Angelo, Grum, Paul Oakenfold and Axwell to name a few. His tracks always manage to fill floors worldwide and have often become crossover progressive house and trance anthems, that have seen both underground and chart success. Max is someone who has risen through the ranks to become one of the most referenced and influential producers of the progressive house and progressive trance genres. His experience and outlook makes for a fine craftsman when performing as a DJ, whether he reaches for an old school gem or state of the art ID, he always surprises dance floors with his warmth and passion, taking his listeners on a seamless journey.
