Bio

Record label showcasing underground UK culture. The coming together of two people from different corners of the globe can often spur incredible and unique results. The journey of Council Work frontmen Tom Frankel & Dayne Harper speaks volumes for that very instance. With Tom growing up in West London and Dayne originally coming from Zimbabwe, you already have a potentially boundless pool of cultural influence as far as music is concerned. The duo comes equipped with an interesting story, one that follows an unconventional path but has been the catalyst for what is quickly becoming one of the most prolific pairings in the UK’s underground electronic music scene. With a sonic palate inspired by a plethora of revolutionary artists from genres spanning Garage, House, Jungle, Breaks, Drum N Bass and Hip Hop; Frankel & Harper are carving a delectable path into the underground with their infectiously varied audio signature. Championing a delightfully unparalleled ‘sound’, the duo is the end product of several years individually bubbling up through London's club circuit combined with a relentless work ethic and seemingly limitless studio hours. Quickly gaining momentum as an established tag team, Frankel & Harper have already lodged impressive releases on iO Mulen’s ‘OldiVibes’, as well as Fraise LDN and their burgeoning Council Work imprint. Already attracting an impressive amount of attention, the duo has seen their works receive a firm thumbs up by none other than Loco Dice, Ben UFO, Call Super, D’Julz, Joy Orbison, Todd Edwards, Fumiya Tanaka, Seb Zito, INSTINCT and Fabe among others. Just as impressive as their production resume, the pair have also graced many of London’s most revered club spaces over the last decade. Gigs at Egg London, Fire, Tobacco Dock, The Cause, O2 Academy Oxford, XOYO and Brixton Jamm making up just a mere few of their most notable features - which has seen them support the likes of Skream, DJ EZ, Alec Falconer, Harry Wills, Pangaea, Mike Millrain, Subb-an, Julian Perez, The Martinez Brothers, Luciano, Enzo Siragusa, Archie Hamilton, Martin Buttrich and many more. Using the success of their Council Work imprint - which has already seen a commendable level of support including No. 1 spots on Beatport and Deejay.de, along with being featured in some of Pioneer DJ’s recent product launch videos - the duo are on a warpath, void of the possibility of pigeonholing and aiming for dizzy new heights with every release.
