Since moving to Berlin in 2014, UK-born DJ and producer Anil Chawla, aka Amotik, has carved out a distinct place in modern techno. Known for his versatile, layered closing sets that emphasise atmospheric storytelling through tension and release, he has built a reputation as a dynamic figure both in the DJ booth and the studio. In recent years, Amotik has expanded his artistic scope. He launched AMTK+, a sub-label providing a platform for like-minded artists with a shared musical vision. He also collaborated with Answer Code Request on a bass-heavy record for Delsin, giving both artists space to explore their UK and breaks roots. Most recently, he showcased a lighter side with select house sets at Panorama Bar in Berlin, Merge in New York, and Radion in Amsterdam. His touring schedule has taken him to iconic venues such as Berghain, Fold, De School, and Khidi, while he maintains residencies at the revered Goethebunker in Essen and Pax-Romana in Amsterdam. Alongside notable releases on labels like 47, BPitch, and Figure, Amotik's critically acclaimed albums Vistār and Patanjali have further cemented his reputation as a visionary producer, earning praise from Mixmag and Groove Magazine. 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of his self-titled imprint - not just a milestone, but a testament to perseverance, proving that consistency, dedication, and staying true to one’s sound can shape a lasting career in an ever-evolving scene.
