Born from the friendship between Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter, Classic is above all else a “family” label; an assembly of diverse artists who refute convention but share in the motivation to satisfy only their own artistic intentions. Creating a platform to share their left-of-centre house selections with the world, Classic began in 1994 as a vinyl imprint, starting at catalogue #100 and counting backwards to zero. Once at zero, Classic retreated briefly before coming back stronger, wonkier and with extended family in tow. We kicked off in 1994, leading the upsurge in popularity of UK house music within an underground scene previously dominated by a soundtrack from US cities like Chicago, Detroit and New York. Enhanced by a strong visual identity, as well as impeccable musical quality control PAPER was, and is one of the world’s most treasured record companies.

Makin' Moves was set up in the Summer 2012, a new music and events company set up by Matt Langrish-Smith and Jamesey D. Makin' Moves nurtures up and coming talent, aswell as collaborating with established names. Matt has a wealth of experience under his belt having previously worked for dance independents Papa Records and Tribe Records UK, an internationally acclaimed label and events company. Jamesey, along with hosting his own radio show on www.housefm.net since 2004, has been an essential cog in the wheel of London's soulful & deep house scene, independently performing at most of the major parties in London swell as guest spots abroad in Japan, New York and Dubai.
