Biografia
Michael Ritter makes melodic house with a strong collaborative dimension. Based in Berlin, he has worked with Felix E on both records and label activity, helping curate Grey Bar Hotel around recurring artists and sustained relationships. Their album 22:22 on Reconsider Music, featuring Sister Sol and Paul Brenning, gives that partnership room for listening pieces as well as more direct club material.
His solo work has appeared on YOMO and Polyptych, among other labels. In the studio, Ritter has described using instruments such as the Korg MS-20 Mini and Arturia MicroFreak without relying on a fixed routine. Personal experiences can provide the initial idea: Yawa Raf, its title reversing Far Away, grew from the feeling of wanting to escape a Berlin winter.
