David Harness has helped shape the sound and social life of San Francisco house music through decades of DJing, production and club residencies. Deep house, disco and classic garage are at the heart of his selections, rooted in relationships with the crowds at Universe, The EndUp and the Mighty Real parties. His reach extends well beyond the Bay Area, with festival appearances including Coachella, Glastonbury and Outside Lands.
In the studio, Harness is closely associated with Moulton Music and with Chris Lum, his partner in Harlum Muziq. Their work together helped develop the production skills he later brought to his own projects. Friends in Harmony gathers singers and musicians around that collaborative outlook, including Ultra Naté, whom he invited after overcoming his initial hesitation about asking a friend to take part.
