Biografia
KETTAMA makes rave music with its emotions turned up: oversized chords, insistent drums and vocals that give the impact a human centre. The Galway-born, London-based producer Evan Campbell has moved from the overlap of house and techno into a broader sound that takes in garage, trance and more contemplative electronic music.
His early work for labels including Unknown to the Unknown placed rough-edged club tracks alongside playful rhythmic ideas. Steel City Dance Discs became a central creative home, leading to the Fallen Angel EP and his 2025 debut album Archangel. Collaborations with Interplanetary Criminal, Fred again.., DJ HEARTSTRING and Clouds sit within a record that also makes room for drumless passages and an interest in orchestral music.
The scale of the music does not depend on a sprawling studio. Campbell has described continuing to work with samples and a limited set of tools in FL Studio, finding that constraints help him finish ideas. That directness carries into performances at Coachella, Glastonbury and Portola, as well as his Amnesia residency with Ben Hemsley. Beneath the high-impact surface is a producer equally interested in the emotional pull of a chord progression and the immediate response of a room.
