Biografia

In an archived account of his label history, Swedish producer Pierre Jerksten explained that the name Sway began as a private joke about his Hertz alias. He created the label in the early 2000s as a techno-focused counterpart to his earlier imprints, choosing a word for movement that also nodded to his frequency-themed alias. Distribution trouble nearly erased the first chapter, but Hertz kept rebuilding the catalogue around muscular drums, clipped funk and tracks made to mix cleanly. More than two decades later, Sway reached its 100th release in 2026, inviting CJ Bolland, Cari Lekebusch and Marco Bailey to reinterpret Hertz material while he revisited the early track “Alone.” That continuity—old tools reworked rather than merely archived—is central to his practice.
