Biografia
Brooklyn DJ and producer Rachel Cross brings a background in singing, songwriting and guitar to her techno project Crossbow. Her music combines firm kick drums and interlocking percussion with dramatic synthesizer lines and evolving pads, leaving room for both darker tension and playful movement. She began DJing in 2017 with house and minimal selections; hearing techno at Detroit's Movement festival redirected her attention toward the genre and, eventually, her own productions. Her first release followed in 2019.
Crossbow has released through Codex, Respekt, Set About and IAMT, while developing her performance work around New York's club scene. Her Gray Area residency sits alongside appearances supporting artists including Ben Klock, Eli Brown and Layton Giordani. The two-track Techno Is My DNA release captures her contrasting approaches: its title track builds a mechanical conversation between a few elements, while Acid Angel develops around a changing acid line. That interest in arrangement and contrast carries through music intended to hold a dancefloor without sacrificing mood.
