Andromedik brings a pianist’s sense of melody to festival-scale drum and bass. Based in Antwerp, Axel Demarbaix combines bright, emotionally direct writing with the speed and impact of the genre, building sets around his own productions, edits and reworks.
He began piano lessons at ten and discovered drum and bass through Netsky in his early teens. Music gradually became more than a parallel interest: after studying business engineering and beginning a PhD, he chose to devote himself to it full time. Early releases on Radar and a continuing relationship with Liquicity gave his melodic style a home, while collaborations with Netsky, Lost Frequencies and Grafix brought different perspectives into the studio.
His Andromedik Invites events extend the project beyond solo appearances, creating a setting for other artists as well as his own sound. Tomorrowland stage hosting, international club shows and touring in Australia and New Zealand have expanded that activity. For all the scale of those performances, the writing can still begin simply at a piano, with a small melodic idea becoming the foundation for a full production.
