Biografia
Dunk is the solo drum-and-bass project of Brazilian producer João Garcia Neto, formerly one half of Jam Thieves. He works at the minimal end of the music, using bass weight, rhythmic movement and atmosphere to give relatively spare arrangements their impact. Launching Dunk in 2020 marked a distinct new chapter: the Jam Thieves partnership ended, while that project continued separately. Dunk brought years of production experience to his debut album, The Music Is My Life, released by Dispatch Recordings in 2021. The label gave him room to explore a wider range of drum-and-bass styles across a full-length record. Subsequent work for Dispatch, Innerground and Formation has continued to establish his solo identity, with groove and the gradual development of each track remaining central to his approach.
