Neonlight combines the force of neurofunk with an interest in melody and harmonic movement. The project began as the partnership of childhood friends Jakob Thomser and Tobias Jakubczyk, building a catalogue through Blackout, Eatbrain, RAM and VISION, with remix work for artists including Noisia, Black Sun Empire and Hybrid Minds. Tobias has since continued the name as a solo project.
That later chapter carries forward the balance between detailed sound design and musical development. He has described progression as more than making a track louder or adding extra layers: songwriting and the feeling of a particular moment remain part of the process. Purple Radiance illustrates that flexibility, reworked from an unreleased remix into an original production after the source material was removed. The result belongs to a project still developing its musical identity as well as its technical vocabulary.
