Mood II Swing

‌

Biografia

Mood II Swing brought together Lem Springsteen's songwriting and keyboard playing with John Ciafone's production, arranging and drum programming. Formed in New York in the early 1990s, the partnership developed a house vocabulary that could accommodate both soulful songs and tougher club treatments. Their working method was reciprocal: a chord progression could suggest a rhythm, while a programmed groove might give Springsteen the basis for a lyric or melody. Ultra Naté's Free carried that collaboration into pop, but their catalogue also includes Closer with Carole Sylvan, All Night Long and a substantial body of remixes. The records were followed by an international DJ life, with appearances at Glastonbury, Ministry of Sound, fabric and Chicago's Smartbar. Their story spans the studio craft of New York house and its reception on dancefloors far beyond the city.
