Andre Salmon’s path into electronic music began with guitar and punk’s distrust of rules. In interviews, the Ecuadorian musician and sound engineer has recalled playing guitar, absorbing punk, hip-hop and metal, and discovering rave culture as a teenager. That breadth still matters: his releases move between house, techno and more abstract textures, while his work in mixing and mastering keeps engineering close to composition. Salmon has also built label projects—including Anima Somnis and Sagmen—to create room for sounds that do not fit a single club lane. Whether making a track, polishing another artist’s mix or playing his own material, he treats sound as something physical, textured and open to surprise.
