Franck Roger’s relationship with house began as a search. Too young for the Paris clubs playing Joe Smooth’s “Promised Land”, he followed the music through Radio FG broadcasts and record shops, absorbing sets by DJ Gregory and DJ Deep and tracing the sound back to Chicago and New York. He began DJing in 1993 and released his first co-produced track, “Tamashi”, in 1999, drawing on the deep, soulful language of Kerri Chandler and Blaze. Roger has kept vinyl and hardware central to his practice; even after decades in the studio, he describes the process as daily work driven by curiosity rather than nostalgia. Real Tone Records became the main home for his vocal and deep-house productions, while Home Invasion provided another route for rawer club material and new artists. His music is recognisable not because it repeats one template, but because swing, warmth and a slightly gritty physicality survive every change in tools and tempo.
