Biografia

Giuseppe Ottaviani has always approached trance as a musician first. He played piano from childhood and began producing in a small home studio in 1998, before forming Nu NRG with Andrea Ribeca and releasing the duo’s work through Paul van Dyk’s Vandit label. After moving into a solo career in 2005, Ottaviani made live keyboards and onstage production central to his identity. His evolving Live 2.0 and Live 3.0 systems let him rebuild, improvise and reshape material during a performance instead of simply reproducing finished tracks; developing the third version even led him to rethink how DJ sets could work alongside the larger live rig. Albums including GO!, Magenta, Alma and Evolver map the expansion of that method, while his long-running catalogue continues through Black Hole, Armada and A State of Trance. For Ottaviani, melody and machinery are not separate concerns: each gives the other room to move.
