Olga Korolova spent her early career touring as an EDM DJ under the name DJ Da Queen, playing music she has since said she never felt: too much hard bass, and not the thing she was good at making. At Mexico's Daydream Festival in 2017 she came off the main stage, found Claptone, Boris Brejcha and Kolsch playing on another one, and told her manager that this was the direction to take. The work that followed under her surname included a remix for Tube & Berger and a collaboration with Jan Blomqvist on Get Physical, with further releases through Armada and AFTR:HRS. The Ukrainian now runs Captive Soul as label, party brand and radio show at once, and has said her sets are half her own productions and half tracks by emerging artists she makes sure are paid fairly.
