Biografia

Axel Boman approaches house music with an ear for soul, odd details and playful changes of direction. The Stockholm-based DJ and producer is one of the founders of Studio Barnhus alongside Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist, a shared studio and label that gives his work a home among dance music and leftfield pop. His productions have also appeared on Pampa, Mule Musiq and Permanent Vacation, while Talaboman, his partnership with John Talabot, extends that collaborative outlook. Boman's DJ career reaches from Stockholm to clubs such as Panorama Bar and Nowadays and festivals including Sónar and MUTEK. His studio music can be as unhurried as his sets are wide-ranging: the 2024 Space Drag EP grew out of time spent on an avocado farm in the mountains outside Medellín. In discussing his earlier album work, he described returning to unfinished ideas and listening again with greater experience, with his Studio Barnhus partners helping select the material. That openness to revisiting sketches and working with others accompanies a catalogue where dancefloor purpose and musical curiosity coexist.
