DJ Bim's work in psychedelic trance joins long-form DJing, production and compilation curation. An encounter with Goa's music culture in the early 1990s prompted him to return to Germany determined to share the sound. Since then, he has explored different branches of psytrance while developing a sustained role with Millennium Records and Yellow Sunshine Explosion. His compilation work extends across more than a hundred collections, including releases for Midijum and other labels.
A long-running partnership with Drukverdeler is central to his production and live work. Their catalogue includes Icarus and Anjin, while DJ Bim's Matchbox collection draws together collaborations with artists including Orisma, Ellinio and Serenity Flux. On stage, Bim favours extended sets that develop in response to the dancers rather than following a fixed sequence. He and Drukverdeler have made their Saturday sunset appearance at New Healing Festival a recurring part of that shared practice.
