Sam Karlson’s house music draws on disco, funk and gospel, with a strong attachment to the genre’s vocal and communal traditions. Based in Paris, he began his career at Les Bains Douches alongside David Guetta and developed his DJ practice through residencies at clubs including Red Light, Mix Club and Queen. Early productions for Robsoul connected him with Phil Weeks’s house sound; later work brought collaborations with singers including Michelle Weeks, Barbara Tucker and Ron Carroll. His appearances at Glitterbox in Ibiza and Defected festivals run alongside a continuing role in Paris nightlife. He hosts Liquid Party, whose guests have included Ultra Naté, Kenny Dope and Dimitri From Paris, and presents a monthly Radio FG show. These activities complement a studio output that ranges from soulful vocal records to collaborations with Magnolia for The Disco Express.
