The process of creating a chart on Volumo
TutorialVideo4 min view
Hello and welcome to Volumo. My name is Sam, and today we're going to explore Volumo charts—how to create them and how to get the most out of them.
First things first: you'll need an account. If you've already got one, simply log in.
Next, head over to your playlist section and create a new playlist. Start by giving your playlist a title. This can be your final title or just a temporary one. Then hit "Create Playlist."
Now it's time to find some music. I usually head over to the Releases tab. Scroll down to the genres you want to curate. I love dubstep, so that’s where I’m going.
There are three main ways to browse music here:
If you've already created a set list elsewhere, you can use the search function to find those specific tracks and add them directly.
To build your playlist, simply drag and drop tracks into the side menu. Alternatively, you can click "Add" next to each track.
Changed your mind? Just click it again to remove it.
Once your playlist is complete, go to "My Playlists." Here you can upload a cover image, rename your chart, and add a description about you, your sound, or the vibe you're going for. You can also reorder the tracks.
If you're working from a set list—great. If not, think about how you’d present this in a club setting. This is often how listeners engage best with your music.
When you're ready, hit "Publish as Chart."
After publishing, you can check out your stats under "My Charts": see how many listens you’ve had, how many purchases, and even how much you’ve earned.
Yes, you heard me right. With Volumo, you get paid for creating charts. Just go to your settings and find "Chart Monetization." Here you’ll see your total earnings, what you’ve made in the last 30 days, and your current balance. You earn 5% of every track sale made through your chart.
Now, if that inspires you to put a bit more effort into your charts—I don’t blame you.
Here’s something else that’s really cool: if you’ve already recorded a set, you can embed a YouTube video into your chart. It’s a brilliant way to show off your performance style and connect with your audience visually.
Take Smash, for example. He created a simply hard set. Fans can listen to the chart and watch him perform it live, just as he would in a club.
As a DJ, getting your name out there is essential. That’s why Volumo offers tools to help you promote your music.
