Bio

Building a label became Dolby D’s way of marking time. The French techno producer, also known as Mickael Davis, launched Dolma Records with Sheef Lentzki in 2014 to celebrate twenty years in music. In a 2017 joint interview, he explained that the imprint’s early identity rested on artist selection and a commitment to issuing vinyl and CDs alongside digital releases. That curatorial role sits beside a production catalogue stretching across raw, deep and harder forms of techno, with collaborations and remixes appearing on Dolma, Sleaze, Suara and numerous independent labels. A tenth-anniversary Dolma collection arrived in 2024, while 2026 brought a five-track collaboration with Fhase 87 on Suara, solo tracks for Dolquen and The Last Movement with l’ombre on Children Of Tomorrow. The result is a career measured not only in records made, but in a label built to hold them.
