Bio
Fordal is the progressive-house project of Les Dales, a London-based DJ and producer whose musical life began in northeast England. Nights at Middlesbrough's Arena and the sounds of Renaissance and Cream shaped his early DJing, while electronic pop from New Order, Depeche Mode and the Pet Shop Boys remains part of his musical background. He also ran Middlesbrough's Binary Records shop from 1998 to 2001.
His later club appearances include Ministry of Sound and Egg London. In the studio, he balances weighty grooves with space for atmosphere and emotion: Alleviate grew from a vocal and chord sequence, with sharper synthesiser sounds set against softer drums. Alongside his own productions, Fordal co-runs Forensic Records with Lexicon Avenue, connecting his work as an artist with a continuing involvement in progressive house.
