Bass-heavy house and UK garage have shaped AC Slater's work as a producer, DJ and community-builder. The Los Angeles-based artist founded Night Bass in 2014, growing a local party into a label and touring platform for related club sounds. His collaborations range from Curbi and Jamakabi to Fly With Us, his partnership with Chris Lorenzo, and his performances include EDC Orlando, Beyond Wonderland and Red Rocks. His musical background reaches back to Pittsburgh raves and mixtapes that introduced him to speed garage, jungle, happy hardcore and American house and techno. In 2026 he returned to those influences with Locked In Radio, an eight-track mixtape on his new Antidote label, conceived around rave and pirate-radio culture. Free SoundCloud tracks are part of the same shift toward quicker, more instinctive production and renewed emphasis on house and garage. For Slater, sharing discoveries and maintaining a community are closely connected to making the music itself.
