Kicking it old school back to the early days of House, Carloh makes his debut with I'm A House Gangster and the track El Dembow. Built around an infectious vocal, El Dembow combines a retro house groove with a variety of sampled beats and textures.
The release features a range of remixes from the IAHG crew: NYC’s DBow delivers a dub with a fierce bassline, Jesse Perez adds old-school jackin’ beats and rave sirens reminiscent of the late ’80s, and DJ Sneak brings hihats and peak-time Jackin’ energy with a wobbly atmospheric bass line. Also included is the Hip-Hop fused track Fuertes Seres, layered with scratching, breaks, moody vocal stabs, and a siren that drives the tension on the dancefloor.
Carloh explains: “Inspired by the actual sound of House, my music was recorded in my home garage using old records, my dad’s samplers, and vintage music cassettes. With this concept, I wanted to go back to the past.”
