Hexa is the Newcastle drum-and-bass producer Harry Ellwood. His records have appeared on 31 Records, Biological Beats, Incurzion Audio and Neksus Sound, while his own WireTrap imprint offers a place for music that does not sit comfortably within an established label's brief. Founded in 2021, it was conceived as an outlet for friends as well as his own productions.
That collaborative outlook also shapes his studio life. Ellwood has described Newcastle's producers as willing to exchange techniques, and his catalogue includes recurring work with Oli Lewis. Hardware gives him another way to keep ideas moving: changing between Eurorack instruments, a Moog and other tools can help him step outside a familiar routine.
