Jaybee brings a hip-hop DJ's attention to breaks into jungle and drum and bass. Raised in Connecticut and based in Florida, he began on turntables at thirteen. Watching DJ ODI work with two copies of Ray Keith's Terrorist helped him recognise a connection between the music he already knew and the possibilities of jungle.
His career includes Bassdrive broadcasts, work with Stepping Forward Records and a continuing network of production partnerships. With Pixel he records as Do The Math, while his Blueprint project with RMS on Dispatch draws directly on their affection for 1990s breaks, sub-bass and atmosphere. Jaybee's drum edits and RMS's approach to the mixes brought those references into a contemporary setting. It is a collaborative practice that also extends to work with artists such as Calculon.
