Bio
Ferdinger makes techno through the gradual development of a groove, using small rhythmic and sonic changes to keep repetition moving. Paris-based Ferdinand Grätz draws on 1990s sounds without limiting himself to their production methods, with releases on ARTS, Skryptöm and his own Life in Patterns imprint. His DJing can range from reduced, hypnotic material to warehouse intensity and bass music.
That range has taken him to Rex Club, Mia Mao and Kilomètre 25 in Paris, as well as FOLD, Renate, Grelle Forelle and Under Club. Broadcasts for HÖR, Rinse France and Slam Radio provide further settings for his selections.
He also shares the production process directly. His Home of Sound masterclass follows a complete track from its first groove and motif through arrangement and mixdown, showing how the detail develops rather than isolating a few techniques. Producing, teaching and running a label give different forms to the same close attention to rhythm.
