Bio

Impex brings a background in heavy bands to neurofunk and drum and bass. The Portugal-based producer and DJ, Marcos Rendeiro, began playing bass in metal, rock and hardcore groups in 2004; working in a rhythm section helped form his interest in basslines and broken beats. A Therapy Sessions event in Lisbon in 2009 encouraged him to pursue drum and bass independently, with sound design becoming an important part of his production practice. His music has appeared on Eatbrain, Evolution Chamber, Dirtbox and Gutting Audio, and he has performed across Europe. The emphasis remains on the heavier side of electronic music, combining the physical force that first attracted him to bands with the freedom of working alone in the studio.
