Bio

Ellen Allien’s music is rooted in Berlin’s rave culture and in a belief that a dance floor can be a place for experimentation. Her productions bring a playful sensibility to dark techno, while albums, vocal work and collaborations extend beyond the needs of a DJ set. She founded BPitch in 1999 and UFO Inc. in 2019, making the discovery and support of other artists part of her practice. That community-minded approach also shapes We Are Not Alone, her long-form parties, and Vinylism, a series celebrating record shops and local selectors. Alongside an international DJ schedule, collaborations with Ash Code and remixes for Lebanon Hanover connect her techno language with darkwave.
