Solomun has built a substantial part of his career around giving a night time to develop. His sets draw on house, techno and songs with a strong emotional pull, but the format matters as much as the selection: long stretches behind the decks let him respond to a room and change direction with it.
That idea found a lasting home in Solomun+1, the Pacha Ibiza residency he launched in 2013. Rather than fill the bill with short sets, he invited one guest and moved the booth closer to the dance floor, making the exchange between DJs and audience part of the night. The concept grew into an international series, with editions in cities including Berlin, New York and Tulum.
Raised in Hamburg, Solomun co-founded Diynamic with Adriano Trolio in 2006. It became a home for his own productions and a wider circle of artists, extending into showcases and festivals. His studio work reaches beyond DJ tools: Dance Baby and Nobody Is Not Loved explore his interest in melody and songwriting, while remixes for Foals, Lana Del Rey and London Grammar bring familiar voices into his club world.
