Bio
AFFKT is the project of Valencia producer Marc Martinez Nadal, whose electronic music moves between house, techno and indie-leaning forms. His Sincopat label provides a home for that open musical outlook, alongside releases on imprints such as Suara and Pets Recordings. Work as chief engineer at Pobla Studios gives him another perspective on the detail of a finished record.
He is interested in the relationship between sound and image as well as the mechanics of a club track. A university project involved making an alternative score for Buñuel and Dalí's Un Chien Andalou, and his studio practice makes room for recorded physical sounds alongside synthesis. Ideas may arrive in a rush and be arranged later, with notes made away from the equipment helping guide the next session. That combination of technical work and open-ended exploration also runs through albums such as The Big Picture.
